Special Event

Special Event featuring Archaeologist from Israel, Thomas Winder
“On the Slopes of Mount Hermon
Redemption in Ancient Pottery of Israel”
Friday, February 7, 2020, at 7:00 pm
Yorba Linda Community Center

Rev. Thomas Winder of “The Holy Land Research Institute” will be coming from Majdal Shams (Golan Heights), Israel. His ministry tagline is “At the Crossroads of Archaeology, Evangelism, and Restoration.”

He will be sharing on the topic of “On The Slopes of Mount Hermon” - the story of the Transfiguration and why Jesus chose Mt. Hermon to declare His Deity and build His Church. Learn the “Keys of the Kingdom” on winning the spiritual battles of this world and see the Bible come to life. Thomas Winder lives in Israel, ministering to the Druze people and is restoring the original Church of the Transfiguration in the high village of Majdal Shams on the Slopes of Mount Hermon.

Prof. Winder is an Archaeologist Missionary with a background in Biblical Archaeology, contracting and broadcasting. He was on the faculty at Trinity SW University, where he taught Hebraic Studies. After years of excavating Tall el Hammam, the City of Sodom, Thomas is now restoring the Christian heritage of the Syrian Druze in Majdal Shams and archaeologically exposing history. If you joined us for the 2019 Israel tour, you may recall meeting Thomas at Caesarea Philippi.

There is no charge for this event, but we will be taking a free-will honorarium to pay for our guest speaker and the room rental. Registration is necessary. Please visit to register.

When was the last time you thought about fleeing
to your nearest bomb shelter?

Rockets attack Israel
Can you imagine instructing your children to flee to a bomb shelter for the next [expected] rocket attack? This unsettling fear must instill a lot of unrest for children and adults! This type of daily fear is hard to imagine for people in America.

The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) has released the rocket attack statistics for 2019:

A total of 1,295 ROCKETS were fired at Israeli civilians from terrorists groups of nearby Gaza in 2019. Of those, 88 rockets smashed into populated civilian areas, and 729 landed in open fields. The other 478 rockets were intercepted by their Iron Dome defense system, which is similar to our Patriot anti-missile technology. However, fallout from these interceptions caused a downpour of metal on the heads of Israelis, which can be deadly too.

Thanks to donors worldwide, the shelters provide security and peace of mind to thousands of threatened Israeli communities. These shelters have saved lives from the 566 rocket attacks and shrapnel that struck populated areas just this year alone.

But more shelters are needed since citizens of Israel usually have a few minutes of notice to take cover.

Song For Israel continues to support this great and widely unknown effort. They have supported Israel with FIVE bomb shelters and have raised over $2,500 toward their sixth one. As Iran has recently threatened Israel with their intent to attack with more bombs, more shelters are needed.
